Healthcare access — how it is calculated
The healthcare score measures how quickly you can reach medical care from a specific address. We do not evaluate system quality, doctor ratings, or waiting rooms — only physical accessibility.
Two layers
Clinics, outpatient offices, GP practices, and specialized centers within 1.5 km. Higher weight — daily healthcare needs are covered here.
Distance to the nearest hospital with an operating emergency department. Lower weight — a rare event, but critical when needed.
Typical scores by neighborhood
- 75–90Sredets, Oborishte — high clinic density and hospital proximity
- 55–74Lozenets, Izgrev, Mladost — good outpatient network
- 35–54Dragalevtsi, Boyana, Simeonovo — limited medical infrastructure
Data
Healthcare facility locations come from OpenStreetMap — outpatient offices, clinics, hospitals, and emergency centers, classified in the map system.
What we do not measure
We do not assess medical care quality, doctor ratings, waiting times, or health insurance coverage. Only physical proximity.
